Anritsu Corporation has announced the release of a universal tester that supports both radio frequency compliance testing and protocols for 5G communication devices by expanding the functionality of its new ME7873NR Lite Model radio frequency compliance testing system.
When configured as a single-unit tester, the MT8000A radio communication test station, RF compliance testing can be performed using the ME7873NR Lite model, while protocol compliance testing can be performed using the 5G NR ME7834NR Lite mobile device testing platform. Previously, separate single-unit testers with different hardware configurations were required to test RF and protocol compliance. With these new enhancements, compliance tests can be performed using the same single-unit tester and switching between applications, which helps optimize the capital investment required to test compliance of 5G communication devices.

The ME7873NR Lite model consists of only one MT8000A and in this configuration can perform RF compliance testing of 5G communication devices. Thanks to this improvement, the ME7873NR Lite supports the 5G FR1 TRx test, as well as some Perf and RRM tests with limited test elements.

The configuration of the One-box tester with a limited number of test items helps to conduct compliance testing at a lower cost. Customers owning MT8000A can conduct RF/protocol compliance testing with minimal additional investment. The Lite model can be upgraded to the full ME7873NR model for full compliance testing.

The simplified configuration of the equipment reduces the testing time by about 20% compared to the full model, which is configured from several measuring instruments.
Supports compliance testing and device verification.
By automating the testing process, it supports compliance testing as well as retesting used in validation processes such as regression testing.
