Anritsu has expanded its award-winning family of high-performance Rubidium™ analog signal generators by introducing the MG36271A, which operates in the 9 kHz to 70 GHz range to meet the needs of new designs with extremely high frequencies. With industry-leading signal purity, power output, and frequency stability, the MG36271A fills a void in the Q/V frequency range, providing significant benefits for the aerospace and defense industries, testing and measurement, communications, components, and research applications.

MG36271A provides industry-leading rubidium performance for higher frequency applications. It has a phase noise of -136 dBz/Hz (typical) and -140 dBz/Hz (measured) at 10 GHz and 10 kHz offsets and very low harmonics for unprecedented signal purity. With a high output power of +9 dBm at 70 GHz, the MG36271A is suitable for a wide range of applications in the Q/V range. The stability of the rubidium frequency (Allan deviation) 8x10E-12 in 100 seconds is determined by the reference atomic clock, which is an order of magnitude superior to other signal generators using the OCXO reference generator.

As with all rubidium signal generators, the MG36271A offers a wide range of modulation, frequency sweep, synchronization and level control capabilities. Its modulation capabilities include AM, FM, phase and pulse to support the modeling requirements of simple and complex analog signals. In addition, the MG36271A has extensive pulse generation capabilities for testing pulse radars. All modulations can be controlled by both internal and external signals.

Housed in a 3U enclosure, the Rubidium MG36271A features a 7-inch touchscreen and a traditional keyboard/dial interface on the front panel. It is equipped with 4 USB 3.0 ports on the front panel, a GPIB port on the back panel and a 10/100/1000 Ethernet port. The MG36271A can be controlled remotely using standard IVI-C and IVI-IVI.NETWORK drivers and through support for SCPI/ native commands.

By adding the MG36271A model to the existing MG36221A and MG36241A models, the Rubidium family of high-performance analog signal generators provides a wide frequency range from 9 kHz to 70 GHz.
